Yes — that's the whole point. The KOALA holds your phone on the outside of the harness, screen facing out, so you can pull it out, use it fully, and let it retract. You can take photos, check maps, change music, or answer calls without removing the harness.
The tether gives you enough reach to use your phone comfortably at arm's length.
